Knights of the new Order full contact jousting in Michigan

The Knights of the New Order rely on strong draft horses to carry them down the jousting lyst. These horses have been bred for heavy tasks, like pulling carts, plowing fields, and jousting. The breeds we use are Percheron, Shire, Gypsy Vanner, Morgan, and Friesian.

Gracie is a Drum, which is a breed first used by the Queen of England to carry heavy kettle drums. Gracie is 7 years old and, while she has been with the troupe as long as Charlie, 2023 was her first year jousting. She is Sir Edward's steed of choice, but when she's not jousting, Gracie dons wings and joins Lady Willow as a pegasus. She is a very happy-go-lucky horse and will do just about anything for a treat. Gracie likes traveling with the Knights of the New Order but also likes being back home with her daughter Lyra.

Charlie is a 15 year old Percheron and the seconds horse to join the Knights of the New Order. He's the old man of the group and can act a bit like Eeyore at times. He perks right up if you bring him a treat, or even thinks you might have brought him a treat. He has been jousting for over 5 years and is Sir Garr's chosen mount.

Hercules is a 17 year old Percheron who has loved becoming a jousting steed. He's generally easy going, he just wants to be loved and make you happy. You can tell he likes jousting because he likes to dance in the lyst. Hercules has been jousting for a year and often carries Sir Shiloh to victory.

Ned is a 24 year old Belgian draft horse. He is a stoic and patient former work horse that has since been trained exclusively as a Marshalls mount and joins Lady Margaret on the field whenever possible.

Scout is a 16 year old Morgan and Friesian cross. He has been with the Knights of the New Order since he was 10. Most days he's happy and lovable but sometimes his alter ego comes out and he can get a little prissy. He loves being around people though, so when you see Scout at a faire he is his happy and lovable self. He used to be a joust horse but was a little too bouncy. Now he delights children and adults alike as a magical pegasus accompanying Lady WIllow around the Midwest.

Gill is a 2 year old Percheron and Shire cross. He is a little too young right now to carry a knight on the field, but look for his debut in the next few years.
