Sir Edward is the founder and leader of The Knights of the New Order. He's cocky and boastful, but with 20 years of experience he's earned it. Having traveled around the country and jousted with some of the best he now enjoys teaching new Squires and Knights everything he knows. Sir Edward ensures they know everything about jousting and horses, but also how to be a Knight.
Sir Edward is played by Brian. He has spent his life around horses and currently owns his own stables and horses. He got into jousting with the Knights of Valor and spent a year squiring with them before becoming a Knight and jousting with them. He went on to joust with the Knights of Meyham, including being in a National Geographic documentary about the group. From there he started the Knights of the New Order. He started out with just one horse, Oliver, but now owns six horses.
Sir Shiloh, Captain of Merlin's Fury. He has sailed the high seas and conquered the Great Lakes. He has now set his eyes on conquering land in the tournament of the joust. With the strength of Olympus on his side he is a force to be reckoned with.
Sir Shiloh is played by Zack. He grew up watching his father, Brian, as a Knight and knew he wanted to follow in his footsteps. He spent 10 years as a Squire and has been a knight for 5 years now. He loves traveling around the Midwest as a Knight as well as the energy that comes from the crowds they perform for, especially when they have big hits. When not jousting he likes to fish, play video games, or working on his motorcycle.
Sir Garr is originally from Hollygrove, where the Michigan Renaissance Festival takes place, being the son of the late Mayor. After seeing the Knights of the New Order joust he realized being a Knight was a great way to spread fun and frivoloty around Hollygrove and beyond. After being a Squire for 5 years he entered the lyst as a full Knight. He is the newest Knight in the troupe, but also the only one with a fan page.
Sir Garr is played by Ross who just showed up at the Renaissance Festival one day and never left. He's been a faire patron, a street performer, and now is a jouster in one of the best jousting shows he has seen across the continent. He loves what he does because, in his own words, "I’m a huge nerd who just watched this weeks new anime." He also enjoys playing D&D in his free time.
As Marshall and Mistress of the Lyst, Lady Margaret has one of the most important roles on field; displaying and celebrating the presence of her Knights, steeds, and squires for all to see. The daughter of a powerful noble family, her upbringing and no nonsense demeanor unquestionably show themselves in the lyst. Her voice is clear and resonant as any could be as she introduces her knights to the many courts and crowds they visit. Though playful at times with her wards, she always gets the last word and does not stand for their indiscretions, the same as any other knight. She is always quick with a response, or a sigh and shake of her head, as she sends knights, steeds, and squires back to their tasks. She always strives to show her wards in their best light, and her pride shows in giving their audiences the best experience she can provide.
Alexis performs as Lady Margaret, Mistress of the Lyst. She has been involved in working at Renaissance Faires since 2013 as part of a resident cast and transitioned to jousting specifically in 2016. She trained and worked as a squire for 3 years while also learning how to ride and care for the many horses in the Knight's care. In 2019 she moved into the role of announcer for The Knights of the New Order and has held that position ever since. When able she is joined on field by her horse Ned who is a 24 year old Belgian draft horse.
Lady Luna is one of the Squires for the Knights of the New Order. She loves being on the field during the joust to hear the roar of the crowd when the Knights enter. She pays close attention to ensure the joust goes smoothly but when able to she likes to photograph the show as well.
Lady Luna is played by Emily. She has been with the troupe for 4 years now and loves every part of it. She owns her own Morgan X Friesian horse, Scout.
Lady Willow was actually discovered by Squire Eustass on a hunting trip. He spotted Lady Willow by a lake with two horses. After stopping he realized they weren't horses but two pegasus. Certain she was fae he was hesitant to disturb her, but she saw him and beckoned him closer. She was not fae, simply a friend to the local pegasus. She agreed to follow Squire Eustass and introduce the Knights to the magic of the pegasus. They were all so taken with Lady Willow and her pegasus they asked her to travel with them so others might also behold their wonder.
Lady Willow is played by Grace and was in fact brought to the Knights of the New Order by Jake, Squire Eustass. She enjoyed watching the Knights at the Southern Indiana Renaissance Festival. Her first year as part of the troupe was in 2023 and she has loved every moment of it. When she isn't traveling with the troupe and showing off Grace and Scout as a pegasus she likes to make things. She likes to sew, bake, garden, and make jewelry.
Squire Eustass came across the Knights of the New Order while hunting. He had specifically been hunting Knights, having hunted all known beasts in the land. Watching the knights clash and the lances shatter he realized he would learn so much more by joining them rather than fighting them. He has been a squire for 2 years now and looks forward to when he can joust on the lyst. You can see him on the field wearing brown and green.
Squire Eustass is played by Jake. He became a part of the Knights through Zack, the two of them went to school together. When he isn't being a squire Jake likes to bowl.
The Red Squire came to the Knights of the New Order from Poland. Back home he was a Hussar, a Knight in his own realm, always learning new skills to keep him a cut above the rest. When he saw the Knights of the New Order for the first time he realized this was it, the skills he needed to stand out at home. It meant starting over as a Squire but it will all be worth it when he can take the lyst as a Knight.
The Red Squire is played by Matt. He has been with the Knights of the New Order for 3 years. He has many fond memories of going to a Renaissance Festival as a child. It was a dream of his to be a part of a Renaissance Festival as an adult. He loves being part of the jousting troupe, but when he's not a squire he likes to build and drive RC cars.
The Count of Flanders is a traveling Knight who hails from Austria. You can notice this from the subtle German accent in his speech or poor English. Jousting and knighthood has been a part of his life since early 2019 when he got the privilege to test his iron in the lyst after much training against Sir Edward. He was a squire for 1 year and knight since 2019 when he received his Knighthood on the gentle giant Scipio. Most recently he has been training with a steed by the name of Geronimo. You may not have seen him in the lyst recently as he has been traveling the world on his kingdom’s crusade for freedom.
Guten Tag, my name is Bradley. I have been associated with the renaissance festival since 2019. Since then, I have held both squire and knight positions. While my work typically takes me overseas it can be quite difficult to attend a more regular appearance. However, I attempt to make as much appearance and training as possible. I also fight in Buhurt ground combat with various groups. While at the renaissance festivals I attend to the camp, horses, squire, and knight the lysts; wherever the commander needs me. I have been associated with Knights of the New Order since its creation. I am proud to have the opportunity to joust, learn, and spend camaraderie time with Knights of the new Order and fans.
